Yankees Defense Update

Over at River Avenue Blues today, Joe Pawlikowski had a post about how much the Yankees defense was costing the starting pitching. We know that while the bullpen and offense have a been great, the rotation has been a little sub-par. As things turn out, the defense is hurting the pitchers quite a bit as it sports the lowest defensive efficiency in the Majors, according to Baseball Prospectus. Look here:

Obviously small samples could come into play here and there is time for this work it's way back to a respectable number, but so far the defense has been, well, atrocious, for lack of a better word. I guess that'll happen when Eduardo Nunez and Raul Ibanez get extra time in the field.
